About the Therapist

Hi, I’m Jane. Choosing a therapist is personal, and it’s important to find someone you feel comfortable being yourself with.

I’m an accredited counsellor with a down-to-earth and authentic approach. I’m often told I have a calming presence that helps people feel at ease, and I offer a warm, compassionate and confidential space where you can explore whatever is happening for you at your own pace, without pressure or judgement.

Sometimes we find ourselves dealing with something unexpected or an ongoing stress, while at other times it can be harder to pinpoint why things feel difficult. You might be experiencing anxiety or low mood, coping with loss or change, navigating difficulties in your relationships or family, or simply feeling stuck, overwhelmed or unsure of what you need.

Much of my work focuses on the situations and relationships my clients find themselves navigating, while gently exploring how they relate to themselves and the ways they’ve learned to respond and cope. Many people I work with describe feeling pulled in different directions by their thoughts, feelings and needs, or finding that the ways they usually cope are no longer helping in the same way.

My approach is person-centred and collaborative. I believe therapy works best when it feels like a genuine partnership, shaped around you rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. Together, we can make sense of what you’re experiencing, explore what you need, and develop greater clarity, self-understanding and self-compassion.

Having a space that is yours, separate from everyday life, can make a real difference. My hope is that therapy can help you feel more connected to yourself and your own needs, with greater choice and confidence in how you move forward.

What to Expect

Our first session is an opportunity to begin getting to know one another and talk about what has brought you to therapy, and what you might hope to gain from our work together.

You don’t need to arrive knowing exactly where to begin or how to put everything into words. We can find our way into things together.

Sessions are led by what feels most useful and important to you. I may offer reflections, ask questions or gently draw attention to things we notice along the way, while giving you the space and time to explore at your own pace. There is no expectation to talk about anything before you feel ready.

Sessions are 50 minutes and are usually held weekly. Therapy can be short or longer term, and we’ll regularly check in together about how you’re finding our work and what you need as it develops.

The fee is £60 per 50-minute session.
