Dr Kyra Thompson is an HCPC-registered Counselling Psychologist with an integrative, culturally sensitive, and trauma-informed approach to therapy. Of Indonesian and Scottish heritage, she is deeply committed to creating therapy spaces that honour diversity, complexity, and personal meaning, with a strong focus on compassion, flexibility, and respect for difference.
Her practice is collaborative, relational, and guided by each client’s individual needs. Kyra draws on a range of evidence-based approaches including cognitive behavioural therapy, person-centred therapy, schema-informed work, acceptance and commitment therapy, compassion-focused therapy, and trauma-focused CBT to support adults and young people experiencing a wide variety of emotional and psychological difficulties.
Kyra offers a safe, empowering, and collaborative therapeutic space where clients can explore their experiences with care and authenticity. Her work is guided by compassion, evidence-based practice, and a strong appreciation of the ways identity, culture, trauma, and personal history can shape emotional wellbeing.
Sessions are tailored to each client’s goals and needs, helping people make sense of difficult experiences, build self-understanding, and move towards a greater sense of wellbeing, confidence, and connection.
