About the Therapist
Dr Elizabeth Mackriell is a Counselling Psychologist who provides a warm, safe and confidential space for adults and young people to explore their difficulties.
Working from a person-centred foundation, Elizabeth draws on a range of therapeutic models including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to tailor therapy to each person’s unique needs.
She believes in working collaboratively, finding the approaches and methods that feel most helpful for you, so that together you can develop new insights, understand what may be contributing to your difficulties and begin finding a way forward.
Elizabeth specialises in supporting people experiencing anxiety, depression, low mood and low self-esteem. She also has a particular passion for working with neurodiverse clients and approaches neurodiversity from an affirming perspective.
Her work includes supporting autistic clients, people with ADHD, and those experiencing emotional regulation difficulties, trauma, health-related challenges and other complex emotional concerns.
Whether you are feeling stuck, struggling with a particular issue or simply want to understand yourself more deeply, Elizabeth aims to provide a compassionate and collaborative therapeutic relationship where meaningful and lasting change can develop.

What to Expect
Elizabeth offers a warm, safe and confidential therapeutic space where you can explore what is happening without feeling judged or pressured.
Therapy begins with understanding you as an individual. Rather than using one approach for everyone, Elizabeth works collaboratively and draws from Person-Centred Therapy, CBT, DBT, ACT and other psychological approaches according to what is most helpful for you.
Sessions may involve understanding patterns in thoughts, feelings and behaviours, exploring earlier experiences, developing emotional regulation skills or finding practical strategies for coping differently.
Elizabeth has a particular interest in supporting neurodiverse clients and works from an affirming perspective. This means adapting therapy around the individual rather than viewing autism, ADHD or other neurodivergent experiences simply as problems that need to be corrected.
Her aim is to help you understand the roots of your difficulties, gain new insights and develop practical ways of creating lasting change. Whether you are dealing with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, neurodiversity-related challenges or simply want to better understand yourself, therapy can provide a space to explore what you need and find a way forward.
